Candidates Round 6

The participants must be reading this blog, because after I lamented the boring d-pawn draw debacle in the first round, they have really turned on the action. Today 3 out of 4 games opened with 1. e4:

Grischuk – Gelfand is a strange Rossolimo (Bb5+) Sicilian, where White looks space deprived but the computer still gives him a slight advantage (+.2)

Position above is after Black’s 10th move.

Svidler – Carlsen is a Ruy Lopez

Radjabov – Aronian is another Ruy Lopez

As for the last game, Kramnik – Ivanchuk, it’s a Catalan, so I won’t bore you with the details. 🙂
