Norway Chess 2013 final round

As I write this the tournament is almost over; Karjakin is playing Topalov, and if he can hold off with a draw (which it looks like will happen) he’ll take the tournament. But some of those trailing him did their part in trying to force a playoff blitz – Carlsen drew against Aronian, and Nakamura defeated Hammer. Wang Hao, deciding that beating Carlsen yesterday wasn’t enough, turned the board around, played the English, and this time defeated the World Champion Anand as the Black player went pawn grabbing and lost his queen.

Nakamura cannot be displeased with his finish in this incredibly strong tournament. He has proven again that he deserves a place among the chess elite.
